Its a Top Shop just around the Block

After such sad news from Polaroid a few days ago, my toes have been wiggling to hear or read something nice. of course when should we find out something great out of England but during London Fashion Week. and what could be nicer than to hear that Top Shop is opening on this side of the water? according to the Herald Tribune that is exactly what is going to happen. well of course in won't be here in the great white north but as it has just been anounced, Sir Philip Green is going to open up shop on Broadway in the NYC. and probably really soon, as he has already acquired the property. mmmmm, my cross-border shopping is going to increase exponentially in the near future. and what of all the other Top Shop lovers around the world? Sir Green is also in talks to open some stores out East (China, Hong Kong, and maybe in India). mmm, Mr. Green i like you. do you know why? because, aside from making his mega retail chain more accessible, also because he earns huge bucks and gives some of it out to support (something along the lines of 2 mill) young designers... such as... i don't know.. Christopher Kane. and all Mr. Kane has to do is create an affordable collection for Top Shop.

Spring Sting

I've been going to all my favourite shopping websites lately (i can't deny my fiendiness for apparel) and i've found about a million and two things i would like to wear... i went onto Christian Joy's page and saw her new collection. i wish there was a store in this city that carried her amazing designs but alas i only get to peruse them on the internet. here's a sample of some of her new Spring '08 collection... can't wait to have one of these pieces. of course Karen O as always makes everything look so delicious. can she ever look bad? answer: unlikely.
